Every Sunday evening between 6.15 and 8.30pm our Trinity Youth Group meets. It is a lively group with a wide range of young people spanning the ages of 11 to 18. The evening is made up of; a time of catch up over a tea, coffee or hot chocolate, a devotional slot and an activity slot.

At Trinity we think it’s important to build up connections between young people and between leaders so that when times get tough the young people always have someone to “lean on”, someone who is there to support them and help them when they need it. This is why we dedicate 20 minutes at the beginning of each week to catching up with each other to see how we’re all doing and getting to know each other that little bit better.

The devotional slots are an interactive, engaging time to learn about the Bible. The slot is taken each week either by a leader or a young leader on a specific topic that part of the termly series. This term the series about applying context and culture to Bible passages to dig into them and find out what is really meant by the passage. So far it has been a really challenging and insightful (for both leaders and young people.)

Finally, each week we have a time of fun and games doing a variety of different activities. From human Cluedo to escape the room, from Masterchef to the mini Olympics. We do a variety of fun engaging activities for all ages and abilities. At NBC, we put real importance on our youth work being young people based and therefore all the activities are chosen by the young people at the beginning of the term. So what do you want to do at youth group? (The possibilities are endless!)

Every year we go on a variety of trips, this term we have gone to laser tag and bowling for an exciting evening out. We also have an annual weekend away as a youth group to spend lots of quality time together and do lots of crazy activities! Every year the young people love the weekend away and the experiences it gives them.

Our teens are also very actively involved in the life of the church on a Sunday, too, and enjoy leading worship on occasion and being involved in the PA.
