Churches Together in Northfield

We’re very active with the other local churches within the Churches Together in Northfield. We hold regular services together, which have recently included healing services. We seek to together serve Northfield practically and through prayer.

Every Christmas, we together run a Community Christmas event, where those who are likely to have Christmas on their own can gather together with dozens of other people and share a full Christmas dinner together.

In February some of us were able to share worship in our local churches during our annual ‘congregation swap’ and meet together for fellowship at the Black Horse.

Theresa was also able to join Canon Janet Chapman (St Laurence) and Annette Sampson (Methodist) as we represented our local Churches Together at Pray24Brum, leading an hour of prayer at Carrs Lane in the city centre.

A very worthwhile experience where we prayed for each of our churches and the wider world.

We will of course be joining in this year’s ecumenical Lent groups, information for this is also in the magazine, or speak to Theresa for more information.

Details for our joint services in Holy week with the Methodists and our CTiN Walk of Witness on Good Friday will be in next month’s edition.

Later in the year we (the Baptists) will be organising the Northfield Carnival Tea Tent and the rota for volunteers from all the churches. It is on Saturday 6th July, please save the date!
